This is one of the few well built and reasonably priced tablet. The model A3000-H  sold in Asian markets also can be used as a low cost Android smartphone (you'll need a Bluetooth headset).

This is one of the most capable, lower cost rivals of the Google Nexus 7. It is sold in three configurations:

Here is a relevant info from Lenovo forum:

The A3000-H is the model sold in Asian markets, the big difference is that it supports voice, you can make GSM calls. See -
ideatab_a3000_voice_qsg_v1.0_en_110_74_20130626.pdf

The A3000-F is the ROW model which I suppose includes North America.

Someone in Lenovo should explain to the US product experts that all of Asia gets a version the supports calling, which is why there is so much chatter about it on the forum.

The two PDFs referenced are official LEnovo docs copied from Lenovo Global Support site - support.lenovo.com.

Both phablet and European 3G version  has dual SIM slots.

The Lenovo A3000 is a notable upgrade over A1000: it uses an IPS display.  The IPS screen is a better deal since has wider viewing angles making for a much more pleasant viewing. While the text won’t be any sharper, it just looks better. With the cost around $150 it is a high-quality budget tablet. In comparison the Galaxy Tab 3 7.0  costs twice more.

A3000 phablet is an outstanding value tablet with almost all the features you want. Quad CPU makes everything smooth without stutter or lag, IPS display is clear and bright, the medium res 1024x600 screen saves the battery and provides a high quality picture for a 7in display, with the upgraded "FUSED" firmware almost all the memory is now usable plus you can still add an external SD card. The HSPA+ 3G connection runs up to 42Mbps so you're not tied to a Wi-FI. What's missing? GSM voice, only the Asian market it seems gets voice. Almost a perfect tablet.

Regarding to the phone feature. The A3000 has a working phone (voice) in the Asian version, just not in the European and North American versions. This was true for the A2107 too and Lenovo never updated it to the non-Asian markets. There were modified firmware on XDA forum to do this using a modified version of the Asian firmware. That entails certain risks but is doable with the Europian version of the tablet (3G only)

MrBeck: Now that I have my UK spec A3000-H in hand and can read the labeling, the A3000-H is 2G/3G with SIM slots but only the Asian market firmware includes voice. My UK spec device support data and SMS.

The A3000-F is wifi only. Apologises for the errors in my first answer, unfortunately this forum has no provision to edit a submission. Sep 3, 2013

Lenovo A3000, Android tablet that has phone functionality

GizmoChina

Lenovo A3000 mobile phone tablet as a revolutionary integration of the intelligent tablet-smartphone products, with fast Internet access anytime, anywhere, easy to carry and user-friendly call experience these three elements.

In the mobile network standard, the A3000 not only continue to support Wi-Fi, has further enhanced 3G capabilities, anywhere you can easily on-line, you bid farewell to find the signal embarrassing day. In addition, the A3000 using 7-inch screen size, but has thinner and lighter – weighing only 350g while the thickness is only 11.0mm, you can easily put in the bag or pocket, will be able to carry.

Breakthrough handset design, even without headphones, also makes it easy to call, to avoid the embarrassment of a speaker call, eliminating the need for cumbersome headset call. Equipped with the latest Bluetooth 4.0. A3000 dual card dual standby combination of speed Internet and high-quality call to be the best of both worlds, more in line with the Chinese consumer habits.

In addition to the above elements, the excellent performance of the Lenovo A3000 its icing on the cake. Equipped with strong new quad-core 1.2GHz processor, more efficient, more power, either in the game or application, can easily enjoy the experience more than 7 hours long.

PCMag

The Lenovo A3000 could suffer from middle-child syndrome; it's very generic. This is a 7-inch black tablet running Android 4.2 on a 1.2-GHz quad-core Mediatek processor. It lacks the dual front speakers on the A1000, instead having a single front speaker at the top of the tablet that can also work as an earpiece for VoIP calling. The IPS screen is much, much brighter and feels less distant under the tablet's font face than the A1000's TN screen, and a textured back with a 5-megapixel camera in the corner gives it some class. The A3000 also has a MicroSD card slot, and can come with up to two SIM card slots for HSPA+ networking.

The A3000's biggest problem is that there's very little that stands out about it other than dual-SIM data, and at least in the U.S., that isn't much of a selling point. Otherwise, you have a very, very, very generic tablet here. Maybe that quad-core processor has spectacular performance - I didn't see that in my brief hands-on - or maybe it'll come at an amazing price.

Thanks for sharing those screenshots with the Antutu benchmark, it's a very good number :smileywink:

About the lack of voice calling, check this http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/IdeaPad-IdeaTab-Slate-Tablets/Call-voice-A3000/td-p/1198147

The requests of this feature are really big, maybe Lenovo is thinking already about adding it in an update. Let's hope so...

If it had voice calling and the same price, the sells of this model would be massive. Lenovo take note :smileywink:

According to http://droidlessons.com/how-to-move-android-apps-to-the-sd-card/

Open the Settings app -> Go to the Apps menu: -> Choose an app you wish to move:-> Pick "Move to SD card":

Notice some apps cannot be moved. You can't install directly to the SD card. In many cases you can move much of the app and its data to the SD card, but the OS and the app have to support it

There are also apps that help to move apps to external sd:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.buak.Link2SD (root needed)

OTA = Over the Air , update. I needed to force it by going to the Settings, About Tablet, System updates to cause a check and download. Use wifi if you do find an update, I found two 5MB and 528MB.

I haven't watched the video... I leave this here in hope it can give some light.

I found this googling, Any experiment you do on your tablet is under your responsability :smileywink:

I don't know if it could work on lenovo tablet, but It looks really interesting anyway.

Call voice A3000. - Page 2 - Lenovo Community

If your A3000 is like my UK spec A3000, a rash assumption given what we know about Lenovo's policy for multiple firmware for the same hardware, anyway, go to Settings, Storage, there should be a three dot icon in the upper right, tap it, you should get a "USB computer connection" option, tap that, you should get a page of options as to how your USB connect works when you connect to a PC. The last option is to appear as a CDROM to the PC. The software on the CDROM are the ADB drivers for connecting to the A3000 for debug. I found this by accident, certainly Lenovo didn't tell me.
