Pentium Compiler Group  -- The Pentium Compiler Group was founded in late '95 to enhance and support pentium optimization in GCC (the GNU C Compiler). GCC does a very good job when optimizing, but the Pentium Chip's architecture demanded different optimization strategies.

Pre-compiled GNU Software

Often people have problems compiling GNU software on their own (due to OS deficiencies, porting problems, &c.) So some kind people have made binaries available. I suspect there are more out there, so please let me know if you know of any others.

• You can buy the "Compiler Tools Binaries CD-ROM" which has binaries of the various compiler tools for several platforms. Check in the latest GNU's Bulletin for information and the order form.
• Most of the GNU tools are a standard part of all Linux systems, There is also lots of other free software (copylefted or otherwise) that has been written, check out the Linux Software Map.
• The GNU web page at University of Wisconsin has binaries for some GNU packages compiled for HP-UX.
• GNU binaries for several platforms (mips, sol2 and sun4) can be found at ftp://ftp.umu.se/src/
• Cygnus Support has a GNU Win32 project (Windows NT/Windows 95)
