The song was suppressed under Soviets and contains a note of about past "tzarists" times. This is a somewhat sad song. Modern pop variant spoiled this nuance.

Excellent performance of Tolko Raz Byvaet V Zhizni Vstrecha (Only Once) and Ytro Tymannoe (Foggy morning). Note also excellent performance of Ukrainian folk songs (he is a native speaker). I did not see any performances of classic Ukrainian folk songs on this level on YouTube other then Soviet Army Chorus & Band - Bandura and may be a couple of others.
